Best Ever Mulled Wine

Mulled wine is the ultimate festive drink! It's sweet, spiced and warming, and tastes perfect alongside a mince pie

  • 1 bottle red wine
  • 100g white sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 star anise
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 6 cloves
  • 8 kumquats

Heat the red wine, sugar, vanilla and spices in a saucepan over low heat.

Meanwhile, rinse the kumquats under hot water, slice and divide among four glasses.

Strain the mulled wine. Serve immediately into the glasses. Enjoy with a mince pie or a spicy gingerbread biscuit!
