Fried Chocolate Bread

5 mins prep, 8 mins cook
Serves 4
Ingredients
100g unsalted butter, softened
16 slices French baguette, cut on the diagonal
100g milk chocolate, broken into pieces
Method
Butter one side of the baguette slices generously. Place 8 slices, buttered side down, on a piece of baking parchment on a work surface and cover each slice with chocolate, leaving a little space around the edges to allow for the chocolate melting. Top each slice with another slice of baguette, this time, buttered side up.
Heat up a heavy-based frying pan or a skillet and fry the sandwiches in batches. Fry for about 3–4 minutes on each side, turning over once, until they are golden. Pile the golden chocolate sarnies high on a plate and serve – causing a frenzy.
