Dinner at Dylans
Escape into the truly magical world of Dylan Thomas’s birthplace – at 5, Cwmdonkin Drive in the Uplands area of the city. Here, at the terraced house where the poet was born, grew up and wrote many of his early works, you can enjoy a traditional Welsh meal including laverbread and cockles, roast lamb and Carmarthenshire goats cheese. The rooms have been lovingly restored to their early 20th century glory – no detail has been overlooked. It’s a captivating and incredibly atmospheric way to spend an evening! Read our full review here.
Morgans Hotel
If you’re making a weekend if it, then Morgans Hotel is a great choice for eating as well as sleeping. A stone’s throw from the city’s waterfront, the menu is wonderfully varied with treats from pan-fried Sea Bass to modern tapas and rosemary-studded rump of Welsh lamb. The breakfasts are pretty good, too! The grand building is an old port building, and is also home to a good wine bar.
